SCAN Health Plan engaged INK to re-launch their website www.scanhealthplan.com.
With over 800 pages of content and 4 very distinct user groups, site architecture
and organization of information were key to the site's success. With a large percentage
of SCAN's audience including the elderly and users with disabilities, it was also
important that users could quickly and easily find the information most relevant
to them – especially when using browser-assisted devices. Making the site user-friendly
did not come at the expenses of providing SCAN with a leading-edge site; the addition
of geo-location data services to help filter and plot physician search results,
contextual page translation, global search functionality that sorts results by user
region and a zip-code narrowing field that provided customized "mini-sites" to users
based on location ensure that the new site is a leader in the health care space.
Finally, an easy-to-use and dynamic content management system will allow SCAN to
save thousands of dollars each month in external site maintenance costs.
