505 Games
Working with 505 Games, Dreamworks, Rolling Stone and Paramount, INK created highly
animated and interactive microsites, sharable mini-games, banner ads, print ads,
social campaigns, and entertaining game trailers for various game titles including
Hotel for Dogs, Drum King, and The Legend of Zorro. When 505 Games entered the U.S.
market, it needed a partner to help create buzz and excitement around the launch
of its line of video games. 505 selected INK to help strategize, design and launch
the marketing and media efforts for its higher-profile game titles. Generating millions
of impressions and hundreds of thousands of unique site visits, INK's work proved
to be both creative and effective.

Challenge
Little brand recognition in U.S. and limited marketing budgets.
Strategy
INK decided to leverage 505's licensed games and the buzz they were generating both online and offline in an effort to leverage the momentum. To promote Hotel for Dogs, we strategically placed media in outlets frequented by movie-goers within the targeted age range. In addition, we created viral and shareable Flash games that young adults could pass along to their friends, driving traffic back to the game's microsite. For The Legend of Zorro, we sought online communities of rabid Zorro fans and drove them to a branded YouTube channel, where users were encouraged to enter a sweepstakes by uploading funny Zorro videos.
Results
With limited marketing budgets and only 3 weeks of media exposure, INK generated over 20,000,000 ad impressions and 200,000 unique site visits to the Hotel for Dogs microsite, helping to clear all game inventory. Leveraging existing client relationships, INK was also able to secure a prize pool from VIZIO for the Zorro promotion in exchange for promotional consideration.
